For those of you who might be interested in contributing your thoughts and comments for a wide variety of article topics, industry-related and otherwise, I highly recommend HARO (Help a Reporter Out), a journalist query service run by PR guru Peter Shankman. Those who are interested in sharing their expertise can sign up for free. The service comes in the form of a three-times-daily email newsletter that contains about 30 queries from writers in each email, which can be quickly and easily scanned for topics of interest. Reporters supply their queries and contact information, and anyone who can speak to any of the topics at hand is welcome to submit their comments.

The service is based on the concept that "everyone is an expert at something," and the queries come from a range of publications, from our meetings industry trade publications to consumer magazines to web-based outlets to big-name, established business journals. If you are looking to get quoted in the press to enhance your professional image and position yourself as an expert in the field, this is a great way to stay on the pulse of the topics writers are writing about and contribute your knowledge.

Two books are stand outs for me, in fact they never fail to get me out of a slump of propel me to another level.

I rely on the wisdom books of the Bible, Proverbs, Psalms and Ecclesiastes are awash with passages I have highlighted over the years.

The second book is Marianne Williamson, A Course in Miracles. As you can see my favorite reading is spiritual and metaphysical, and for me it works as most of life has been lived on the brink of a miracle. LOL...!!!
