Lisbon Takes Three World Travel Awards


Lisbon was the triumphant winner of the World Travel Awards (WTA), the world’s most prestigious tourism awards, by winning the prizes for the Best European Destination, the Best City Breaks Destination and the Best Cruise Ship Destination.

These awards were announced at the 16th WTA award ceremony held in Óbidos and were given to António Pereira, the president of the Convention Bureau of Turismo de Lisboa, by Kevin Taylor, the vice president of WTA.

During June, the Lisbon Convention Bureau and Turismo de Lisboa, organized and hosted the Superincentive event for 50 meeting planners, incentive houses, business travel executives and event planners from 10 countries.
From the U.S. we took with us 7 professionals, and the comments we got when we came back were very complimentary.As a matter of fact, 3 out of 7 have expressed interest in booking Lisbon for their events in the near future! 3 out of 7, there must be something good there...

For years I have enjoyed going to the famous Union League Club of Chicago.
I actually felt special being there, and since I live in Chicago for the last 21 years, I've been there quite a few times.
I've been a guest, I helped organize events, I was a Rotary member, and participated in networking fairs promoting my business.
I can say that through all these associations, the club has seen a nice chunk of money from my associates and me.
